3D – Simulations

JACK UP SIMULATORsign indicator

JACK-UP SIMULATOR INSTRUCTIONS

The "Jack-Up Simulator" allows you to practice raising and lowering the hull within the allowable limits of inclinations.

Your objective is to raise the hull to an air gap of 45 feet, using the buttons on the Jacking Central Console. The Inclination Panel displays the hull’s inclination in the longitudinal and transverse directions, the total inclination, and the hull’s highest point.

The jack up display is an actual 3D model you can scale to your preference, and viewed from 360o.

Functions of the buttons on the Inclination Panel are as follows:

  • Emergency Stop: Stops all raising and lowering operations.
  • Alarm Acknowledge: Stops the alarm sounds and light blinking.
  • Reset: Allows you to restart the operations from the afloat condition.

RAISE THE HULL TO AN AIR GAP OF 45 FEET. USE THE JACKING CENTRAL CONSOLE TO RAISE OR LOWER THE HULL WHILE MAINTAINING IT WITHIN 1.5 DEGREES OF THE HORIZONTAL PLANE. TOUCH AND DRAG OVER THE DISPLAY TO VIEW THE JACK-UP FROM 360 DEGREES, OR USE “PINCH” FOR ZOOMING.

THE HULL INCLINATION IS TOO HIGH: 1.5o. TRY TO CORRECT THIS BY EITHER RAISING THE HULL LOWER POINT OR LOWERING THE HULL HIGHER POINT. TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ALARM, PRESS THE “ALARM ACKNOWLEDGE”. TO PAUSE THE OPERATIONS PRESS THE EMERGENCY STOP.

YOU HAVE REACHED THE REQUIRED AIR GAP OF 45 FEET, BUT THE HULL INCLINATION IS ABOVE THE ALLOWABLE LIMIT.

VERY GOOD! YOU HAVE REACHED THE REQUIRED AIR GAP, AND THE HULL INCLINATION WITHIN THE ALLOWABLE LIMIT.

BASED ON THE LEG LENGTHS AND PENETRATIONS, YOU ARE EXCEEDING THE MAX. ALLOWABLE AIR GAP. LOWER THE HULL TO THE PROPER AIR GAP.
